A one day seminar on Intellectual Property Rights & Geographical Indication was organised by IQAC, YMC on 14th November 2019 with Ms. Gihukali Chishi, Technical In-charge, PIC Department of Science & Technology, Government of Nagaland as the resource person. The programme started with a welcome address which was delivered by Mr. Toyeto Chishi, Vice Principal, YMC. The resource speaker, Ms. Gihukali Chishi highlighted on the various aspects of Intellectual Property rights and how vulnerable our people are of losing our culture, identity, inventions and ideas to others. However, she also mentioned that with the aid of the Department of Science & Technology as the nodal agency, now we can safeguard our Intellectual Property. The resource speaker also provided the attendees with a pamphlet each on Patent Information Centre (PIC). The programme ended with a vote of thanks which was delivered by Ms. Ratna Begum, Asst. Prof. Department of Political Science. Two Assistant Professors and 10 students from MGM College, Dimapur also attended as special invitees.
