Yemhi Memorial College Dimapur organised a Programme on Tobacco Awareness under the National Tobacco Control Programme on 23rd August, 2017 at the college Conference Hall. Ms. Medongunuo Pienyϋ, Social Worker and Dr. C. Tetseo, District Programme Officer, National Tobacco Control Programme were the resource persons.
Addressing the Students Dr. C. Tetseo reminded the students that Tobacco is the biggest cause of preventable deaths in the world today and the youths are in majority to Tobacco addiction. He sensitized the students on Tobacco addiction, diseases caused by it and measures to be taken to curb this menace. He also encouraged the Principal to take the initiative & necessary measures in making the institution a Tobacco-free Campus. Booklets and fliers were distributed to all the students.
