“Lead Me On” by the Evangelical Union commence the 5th Foundation cum Fresher’s Day of Yemhi Memorial College.
After the Invocation on God’s presence by Miss Bobita Rai, Makhan Chetia, Principal of YMC gave his Foundation message with a brief history of Reverend Yemhi.
“Behold I am lying in Zion for Foundation”, the Pillar and Foundation of YMC is the late Rev. Yemhi and the institution uphold his visional Principles.
In his introduction of the Chief Guest, he describes Smti. Kuholi Chichi, as a disciplinarian in the true sense. Her most favourable achievement was the UGC NAAC accreditation of Government College, Dimapur, during her tenure.
The Chief Guest in her speech praise the college for its performance. She encourages the students to make the right choice and discover themselves in the process. To make the best use of their potential and to learn and behave qualitatively. Small things make the difference and so they should pay attention to the smaller details of life.
They should learn to struggle and appreciate it to have full satisfaction of success. She also uses the analogy of the butterfly to make her point.
The host Areni and Sentilong began the Second session with the introduction of the Fresher’s contestants. The students displayed their talent through various performances. Following the tradition of crowning Mister and Miss, the Panel of judges, Miss Philatim, Miss Bobita, Miss Asang and Sir Kossam crowned Mr. Niloka K. Sumi and Ms. Wikhailiu Newmei as Mr Fresher and Miss Fresher for the year 2018.
