The 5th Annual Sports Week of Yemhi Memorial College, Dimapur was held from 2nd Feb-5th Feb, 2018, at State Stadium Dimapur, under the theme “Win from within”. The students were divided into 4 (Four) different groups i.e. TITANS, SPARTANS, HOUSE STARK and ZENITH competing against each other in various individual and group sport and athletic events.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Miss Areni Kikon Assistant Games and Sports Secretary, Yemhi Memorial College Students’ Union and Wijonwangbo president Evangelical Union (E.U) Yemhi Memorial College invoked God’s blessings with a prayer. Captains and Vice-Captains of each group were taken Oath by Mr. Sanenlong Jamir Games and Sports Secretary Yemhi Memorial College Students’ Union. The Annual Sports was declared opened by Mr. Makhan Chetia Principal Yemhi Memorial College.
On the First day, the students participated in various group events like Football (Boys), Volley Ball (Both Boys & Girls) and other Athletic events.
The Second day Witnessed finals of both Football & Volleyball and other events like Tug of War, Shot Put, Long Jump, Relay Race etc.
The Third day was held at College Campus where the students participated in various Indoor games like Badminton, Table Tennis, Eating Competition, Arm wrestling etc.
The closing and Prize distribution was chaired by Sanenlong Jamir Games and Sports Secretary Yemhi Memorial College Students’ Union. The TITANS was declared the overall Champion scoring 2800 points followed by SPARTANS scoring 2750 points. HOUSE STARK and ZENITH came in Third and fourth position respectively.
